    • Tech Podcast Network
    • Mailbag
      • Speeding up Podcasts – “BeyondPod can do that, at least the beta versions for the last couple of weeks have been able to. It is still experimental and requires a 3rd party plug–in.” Jan
      • Jacob sent us a USD10 donation via Paypal
      • Kevin, aka Kaizen108 on Twitter, sent us two USD25 Amazon Gift Cards and advised the Amazon link did not show properly in Chrome for Mac.
      • Daniel Frey sent us a note about OpenSchedule for Android(Market Link), which he developed, and was recently used for Indiana Linux Fest. OpenSchedule allows you to dynamically fill in, manage and distribute all the schedule details about an event. “The web app is actually feeding all the data to the ILF schedule link above.  It allows the organizer to create/manage all the details about the schedule.  For instance, they can manage the sponsors, venues & rooms, speakers, sessions, tracks, etc.  They can push notifications to the users as well.” the project is still under development

    • Slate App now available (Market Link)
    • NPR News App updated (Market Link)
  • Comparing Amazon Cloud Drive/Player to MP3Tunes
    • Both support online music storage and streaming
    • MP3Tunes has an open API for Media(sync, browse, and stream music), Load2Mobile(Send music and video to any phone), and LockerLoad(music download sites can send directly to a locker). Cloud Drive has no API, and adding one might damage their S3 business
    • Amazon Cloud Player…supported on Android and a webapp. MP3Tunes, many more platforms, including Roku, Tivo, several net radios, Wii, etc.
    • Pricing: Amazon Cloud Player: Yearly $20/20GB, roughly $1/GB/YR. MP3Tunes, offers $20/20GB, and $50/50GB, but 100GB is only $74.95, and 200GB is $139.95.  Free offerings are 5GB for Cloud Player, 2GB for MP3Tunes(they are slowly upgrading all free users to 10GB)
    • Mp3Tunes Supported types: mp3, mp4, m4a, aac, wma, ogg, flv, avi, 3gp, 3gpp, mov, mpg, mpeg, m4v). Cloud Player: mp3 or m4a.
