    • Google explains that users with smartphones and tablets are consuming news throughout the day, as opposed to over breakfast, and at the end of the day. Google intends to move news collection to Now and Plus and use algorithms to decide what is important to an individual. The Digital Reader points out the problem is that most social networks get links from people who use a news reader of some kind. The net effect is that Google is driving away those who distribute content on social networks.
